Audio files that have been recorded by either an Optimus sound level meter or Trojan Noise Nuisance Recorder can be played back within the NoiseTools software.
However, it may be useful to playback or analyse audio files outside of NoiseTools. For example, it may be useful to send an audio recording to a 3rd party for them to listen to.
The audio files are usually stored in the same location as the noise measurement data in a folder called audio. However, the audio recordings can be exported directly from within the NoiseTools software itself.
This allows the filename of the audio recording to be chosen when the file is saved. Another benefit of using the audio export is that the original files are not altered in any way.
The process is slightly different between NoiseTools v1.4 and NoiseTools v1.5 and the steps for both of these are shown below.
Exporting audio files from NoiseTools v1.5
1. Open the measurement containing the audio recording(s).
2. From the summary screen, click on the time history graph. Alternatively, click the Time History tab on the right-hand side of the main window.
3. Click the specific audio recording to be exported. This will zoom the time history display to the whole audio recording.
4. Right click on the audio recording and select Export Audio. Choose the filename and location and select Save.
